Long Island Wedding with Rob Spring

I had the pleasure of working with Rob Spring of Rob Spring Photography a couple of weeks ago. He’s a super talented and super fun guy. And so calm! Nothing bothers this guy. I was his second shooter for Katie and Loren’s wedding in Port Washington, Long Island. It was a beautiful day.

Earlier this summer I was a second shooter for Raquel Reis, an associate for Karen Wise Photography. It was such a beautiful and emotional wedding at The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, with the most amazing natural light.
Pure Elements Graduation Show

Three years ago I photographed Shani and Lakai’s wedding. They are such an amazing couple and their wedding was a real eye opening experience for me. They were so full of love and energy, and were so free with their emotions and gratitude, that it made me realize how precious and beautiful life is. And short. Too short not to be happy and grateful and open with everyone you encounter.
Lakai is the co-director of a nationally acclaimed non-profit community dance program, based in Bed-Stuy, called Pure Elements Dance. Both Shani and Lakai are also instructors there. Last week, I photographed their 2011 graduation show at Prospect Heights High School in Brooklyn.

Left Coast Kitchen

I had so much fun this weekend doing the website photos for Left Coast Kitchen in Merrick, NY. Their food is ridiculous. One part clean and fresh San Francisco faire, one part your mom’s home cooking on crack. I don’t know what the chef put on my burger, but I’m still dreaming about it, three days later. It’s owned by the chef, Christian Randell, and his wife Heather, who are both super cool. Their staff is really warm and friendly, and my favorite part of the day (besides eating that burger) was making portraits of the staff and all of their tats and piercings.
